Racism

Racism
Posted By: Candis Ames-Morton on June 08, 2005

aight...so even though i moved from jersey to Va almost 3 years ago I'm still going through culture shock. It seem people segregate themselves down here and racism is alot more obvious down here then up north. the other day my friend got called a nigger, as bad as we both were ready to go off i told her to just chill because she a good student and she don't want to miss school because of a fight.

now for me that's maturity because caught me a few months before and my fist print would have been on the back of his throat. i mean, that hasn't been the only incident where i been or seen somebody be discriminated against or something of the sort but that's just recently. But i guess my questions is does anybody else notice that the further south you go the more prejudice it seems or is it just me?

If u ask me....racism is still everywhere, Yeah it's a little more strenous down south because that is where it orginated( for the most part). A movie that deals with racism is "Crash"(With Sandra Bullock, Lorenz Tate, Ludacris.....) It makes u realize that racism is still out here and some of these "white folks" still don't want us to succeed. It's is up to us, as a people, to decide on whether or not we are goin to live up to their expectations or prove them wrong. But Racism is still here.

Racism is every where even in people who don't realize it. A lot of times I sign blogs because people state how cool and friendly they are but they never speak.
Go figure...
