SHOULD WE LAUGH AT CHURCH FOLKS?

I grew up with a God-fearing Pentacostal Great-great grandmother who would slap you across the room for talking (not to mention laughing) about church folks. "Don't play with God!" She would warn you once with a pinch. The slap was affirmation! Now, I recently picked up this book a friend was reading and it was not long before I was giggling. Then laughing. With Grandmother in the back of my conscous and hoping God forgive me in the front of my conscious, I could not help but to laugh because I knew a lady in church who acted just like Sister Imahellraiser! Then my friend and I had to just get honest about church folks and I am wondering if you sometimes leave church asking yourself, "Just what was she thinking wearing such and such?" Well, I'm going to check out the Author's, Pat G'Orge-Walker's, interview and ask her a few of these questions. I want to know just what does "Somewhat Saved" means and I have a few more questions. What is the difference between the people at church and the people at the local supermarket? Why can you laugh at them when you aren't in the building we call "church" but can't laugh at them when you are? The "church" isn't the building, it's the people who come together, right? People are the church. And how many times have ou thought, "Lighten up!" about somebody? We all need to learn to laugh, mostly at ourselves! Besides, the fruit of the Spirit is peace, JOY, and love, and "laughter doeth good like a medicine." If we can't laugh at ourselves who can we laugh at but each other? When noone seems to be funny, look online, animals are doing a great job of being funny! Laugh today! GB

Good question. LOL-they go from the supermarket to the church. I guess the expectation is that in the church, folks are on their best behavior for the Lord. Check out the interview with Sister Betty and share your thoughts. Thanks for chiming in, Lesley.
