Why some of us won't vote for Barack Obama.

Why some of us won
Posted By: Marta Fernandez on October 03, 2008

I respect the right of self-determination. I respect exercising your own independent freedom of choice. I also respect intelligence. Persons who make their own decisions based on sound research. I respect persons with political savvy and nationalistic pride.

Moreover, I even respect people who want to be contrary, just because they feel like it.

What I don't respect is questions that are so incredibly dumb, that they make my eyes roll around my head..

someone asked me "why did the Democrats loosened(sic) up all the credit ..& forced the banks to give bad loans" or else..whaaaaaaat??? Even if I could answer that which I could it would take a tome..an encyclopedia of reporting going all the way back to the Revolutionary War's cry of No taxation without representation!!

The challenge was to give them a reason to vote for Barack Obama. I will not! But I will refer them to www.my.barackobama.com, read and educate yourself..then ask the questions!

If there is one of us in this country that does not want to vote for him, by all means vote your desire. But please, realize it probably will be the dumbest move in your lifetime! But it's okay. You are the one that has to live with it, and explain it to your offspring!

"The same books that open up to me, open up to everyone" ..quote from my Journalism teacher c. 1980

Everyone got their own my mind but I don't think Obama can do any worse than any of the presidential canidates before him, I think he deserve the same chance as any one else running for any office.

----Just call me "conservative-independent for Obama". How could anyone in their right mind even entertain the thought of backing a McCain/PALIN ticket...???

We as the people need to learn how to support and stand with one another; Rev.Martin Luther King Jr said ; He have a dream/ success quotation'' I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal.

Now if McCain was speaking with me in mind when he talks tax breaks, healthcare, education, then maybe I would think about voting form him. But at least Senator Obama is in tune with my needs and my woes, and he also has a decent plan to bring some calm to some of my issues. But McCain is a fake and you can see it when you look at him, I can almost see the horns on his head. It isn't about Republican or Democrat, or Black or White for me, it's about what's right. We don't know that Senator Obama is going to be any better than any one else who has had this seat, but why not give him a chance? It sure can't hurt!

I agree with Rev. Lenora Peterson, the speech of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was from our past, yet it set in stone the footsteps of our future our nation has rise up to live out the true meaning of our creed; those that don't realize this do not remember those who has gone on before us...they died there blood was shed they were hanged for this very moment for someone to rise up and become a great leader from the ashes of the past! I'm sorry I cannot and will not vote for a MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET I RATHER WALK THROUGH FIRE! Come now someone who has wealth and 9 homes are not looking out for me and mines...they even had nerves to make fun of him been a community orgranizer...someone with wealth from our forefather is not looking out for me...someone who humble themselves for the people is where I will cast my vote I've done my homework on this topic OBAMA has my vote!

You want to know what gets me the most? After all the fighting we have went through, gone through and still face as a people of free independance we are still slaves in our common mind of ethics and progress. We have been granted the right to vote, the right to choose our own, and still we keep the shackles on our feet! So many love slavery still, and I speak somewhat hypotectically so many times I believe that too many of us are in love with failing and distraught! Too many will not vote for Obama, and all too many will not VOTE at all. I among one who will Vote!
