Posted By: Candace Wilson on June 22, 2005 Whats really good everbody, well basically i just wanted yall opinion on my father......I will be going to college in August, and my father wont let me do anything...my curfew is 10:00 and thats only on the weekends...I cant go anywhere during the day because he says that the week is made for working...I cant take this...a lot of people are saying that i'm gonna wile out when i get to college...and honestly i dont know. Do yall think that this is right of him..i understand that i am a girl and i am the baby, but DAMN i'm bout to go to college, ya know. So tell me what yall think of tell me your parent experiences. Sit him down and let him know that you are a young woman now. Tell him that it's time that you make your own decisions because he can't protect you forever. Let him know that you are a smart Black woman with her mind in the right place. Hopefully, he'll lighten up. But I see where he comin from though. So much happenin to girls nowadays. Its time to sit daddy down and have a real one on one with him because your being treated like your still in middle school. He has to learn to trrust you cuz it seems like he doesnt. Trust is big with parents and their children I believe that a lack of trust on the parents behalf is why so many kids rebel and just wild out. Your father should know you by now, he should know what your capable of and not. Just have a real talk with him, get your points out first then let him talk, and pray for the best. hey girl. my mom is being the same way right now. my friends say the same thing but you shouldn't wyle out because it's only hurting you. you can get thru one month. i am but once he sees that you did fine in college when you come back you should be fine. if he acts the same when you come back from college you need 2 talk 2 him. it's just hard 4 them to let their babies go because the world is crazy fun but crazy.

Just let your dad know that the morals that him your mom has instilled in you are still there and that you will respect yourself when you get to college in a good way.
