Freeport-McMoRan is an international mining company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, that finds, extracts, and processes copper, gold, and molybdenum. Its operations include the Grasberg minerals district in Indonesia, along with the large-scale Morenci minerals district in Arizona and the Cerro Verde operation in Peru. It is the largest U.S. corporation focused on mining, and in addition to Indonesia it has operations in Arizona, Peru, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with additional U.S. sites in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas.
