The pre-employment drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of the acceptance of the conditional offer of employment.</p></span> </div> <br> <span id="bold4" class=" font-weight-bold">Position Summary: </span> <span id="MainContent_PositionSummary"><br><br></span> <br> <br> <span id="MainContent_bold12" class="font-weight-bold">Overview: </span> <span id="MainContent_Overview"><br><br></span> <br> <span id="bold5" class="font-weight-bold">Duties: </span> <span id="MainContent_Duties"><br><br><ul><li>Inputs medication orders and ancillary orders via personal computer or other electronic device.</li><li>Fills and packages medication orders under the supervision and direction of a Registered Pharmacist.</li><li>Maintains an inventory of all pharmaceuticals to ensure adequate supply. </li><li>Contacts nursing units within the Center to clarify medication orders under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.</li><li>Accounts for the return and destruction of discontinued and expired medications according to proper procedures.</li><li>Answers questions and inquiries from direct care staff on status of medication orders.</li><li>Conducts the cassette exchanges of routine medications for each resident at each Center, checks refrigerators, medication carts, and medication rooms for expired medications and the floor stock for expired medications and proper labeling.</li><li>Works with nursing units to clarify medication orders under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.</li><li>Employs necessary safeguards and diligence in dispensing or disposing of controlled medications.</li><li>Accounts for the receipt of all medication shipments and the billing for medical equipment, such as IV pumps, from suppliers.</li><li>Ensures all medication orders are submitted to third party payers according to established guidelines.</li><li>Compiles data for narrative and statistical reports and surveys.</li><li>Packages medications for delivery to all Centers.</li><li>Performs related tasks and duties as assigned or directed by a Pharmacist.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold6" class="font-weight-bold">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities </span> <span id="MainContent_KSA"><br><br></span> <span id="bold7" class="font-weight-bold">Knowledge of: </span> <span id="MainContent_Knowledgeof"><br><br><ul><li>Standard procedures associated with filling, packaging, recording, and inventorying pharmaceuticals and other items dispensed to residents</li><li>Safeguards associated with the dispensing and disposing of controlled medications</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold9" class="font-weight-bold">Skill in: </span> <span id="MainContent_Skills"><br><br></span> <br> <span id="bold8" class="font-weight-bold">Ability to: </span> <span id="MainContent_Abilityto"><br><br><ul><li>Maintain accurate and complete records of all medications and orders</li><li>Communicate effectively orally and in writing</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and patient care staff regarding the pharmaceuticals, or other items dispensed by the pharmacy</li><li>Use a personal computer, fax, and telephone equipment, etc. </li><li>Function as a team member in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within a long term care facility </li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold10" class="font-weight-bold">Residency: </span> <span id="MainContent_Residency">Allegheny County within 1 year.</span> <br> <span id="bold11" class=" font-weight-bold">Veterans' Preference: </span> <span id="MainContent_VeteransPreference">Will be awarded to eligible candidates.</span> <br> <div id="Needtocenterandbold" class=" text-md-center font-weight-bold"> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER - M/F/V/D </div> <br> <br> <div id="Needtocenterandbold2" class=" text-md-center font-weight-bold"> <a href="https://apps.alleghenycounty.us/HRJobApplication/firstpage.aspx?id=0171" id="MainContent_Applyonline">Apply Online</a> </div> </div> <br> <br> <br> </div> Contact Information
