The State of Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) is hiring a Secretary 1 to join the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) - Connecticut's vocational rehabilitation program dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities achieve employment and independence. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Secretary 1, you'll play a key role in keeping our office organized, responsive, and efficient. You'll manageme communications, coordinate meetings, maintain records, and support staff across multiple functions - all while helping BRS deliver critical services to individuals with disabilities. The Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) is Connecticut's vocational rehabilitation program. We help individuals with disabilities prepare for, enter and maintain employment through a wide range of services that best fit their needs and will lead to success. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Two (2) years of experience above the routine clerk level in office support or secretarial work. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED College training in the secretarial sciences may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of one (1) year. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint Experience performing administrative functions including managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines Experience working with office systems and procedures, including electronic and paper filing, digital correspondence, letter and memo composition. Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders Experience with contracts or purchasing Experience coordinating and scheduling in person, hybrid, and remote meetings, including coordinating meeting materials and meeting minutes Experience working in a hybrid environment Contact Information
