INSTRUCTOR, ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING, CLINICAL (PROBATIONARY STATUS)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Probationary, Faculty, Fall Semester 2026

CLASSIFICATION: Probationary

SALARY RANGE: $47,573- $85,165 based on degree and experience. Excellent fringe benefits.

JOB SUMMARY: The Associate Degree Nursing Probationary Full-Time Clinical Instructor shall provide academic instruction in a range of courses within the Associate Degree Nursing program which may include day, evening, weekend, and/or on-line courses. The instructor will maintain scheduled office hours, advise students, develop curriculum, and participate in College service and professional development activities.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and submits copies of course syllabi by the end of the first week of the course.
  • Makes appropriate use of allotted course minutes.
  • Requests textbooks and other required course material by deadline.
  • Confirms attendance for financial aid purposes by deadline.
  • Submits early-alert report grades for each section taught by deadline.
  • Submits final grades for each section taught by deadline.
  • Maintains and makes available necessary grade records.
  • Participates in student grade appeals procedures as necessary.
  • Participates in adjunct interviews and evaluations on a rotating basis.
  • Observes the College calendar.
  • Posts and maintains conference hours.
  • Participates in assessment of student learning and assessment reporting.
  • Participates in scheduling process by providing preferred schedule and selecting courses by deadlines.
  • Participates in course review.
  • Participates in program review.
  • Participates in development of programs and courses.
  • Attends in-service days or uses sick day/personal day if not attending.
  • Attends division and discipline meetings.
  • Completes at least one CEU or equivalent amount of professional development.
  • Fulfills contractual obligations for college service.
  • Attends commencement.
  • Submits professional report by deadline.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports to the Chief Academic Officer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Nursing; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree and current unencumbered state RN license and 4000 hours non-teaching related work experience.
  • Applicants in process of obtaining MSN may be considered but would be required to complete the MSN program within three years from date of hire.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with nursing education specialty preferred.
  • Five years of community college teaching experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical-surgical clinical nursing preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR). Current knowledge of evidence-based practice in Adult Nursing preferred.
  • Experience with clinical care in chronic and acute care settings preferred.
  • All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.
