Job Description

Purpose

The Senior Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in managing Operations Finance HQ reporting, ensuring strict adherence to AbbVie Corporate FP&A standards. This role will provide actionable financial insights, guarantee compliance with policies, and drive impactful initiatives to enhance financial processes. This position partners across all levels of the Operations Finance team and acts as a key liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the consolidation and delivery of Management Reporting and Investment Responsibility packages, providing accurate benchmarking for stakeholders.
  • Drive financial reviews for Specifieds reporting submissions, facilitating strategic discussions with Operations Finance leadership around variance analysis and key reporting outcomes.
  • Oversee Operations Deferral Accounting across all reporting cyclesincluding monthly, quarterly, annual, Plan, Long Range Plan (LRP), and Latest Business Estimate (LBE).
  • Manage and coordinate all tax-related reporting requirements as well as Operations HQ Audit and SOX compliance requests.
  • Analyze variances for ongoing planning cycles, preparing meaningful management reporting schedules to inform decision-making.
  • Deliver training, ongoing support, and serve as the HQ representative on high-impact finance projects.
  • Build strong working relationships across the Global Finance organization.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of three direct reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a large, multi-national manufacturing organization, including manufacturing accounting concepts.
  • Proven strategic thinker and trusted advisor able to drive decisions with data-driven insights.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, adaptable to different stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across all organizational levels and challenge existing practices constructively.
  • Highly self-motivated, with ability to manage individual and team deliverables and priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and change management.
  • Exceptional financial, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in SAP and BPC required along with working knowledge of or desire to learn analytic tools including PowerBI.

Key Stakeholders

  • Primary contact for Global Operations Finance and Corporate FP&A groups; acts as the central resource for internal and external stakeholder needs and troubleshooting.
