Teaching Professor (Assistant, Associate, or Full)![]() Teaching Professor (Assistant, Associate, or Full) Location: Notre Dame, Indiana Open Date: 2026-01-23 Deadline: Feb 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description:The Department of Classics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a Full-Time, open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full) Teaching Professor. The Teaching Professor will coordinate the teaching of beginning and intermediate Greek and Latin (which involves supervising graduate students teaching beginning languages) and may serve as the Director of Undergraduate Studies. The teaching load is six courses per year, including a combination of Greek and Latin language and Classics courses in translation (if also serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies, the teaching load will be five courses per year). A Ph.D. is required by the beginning of the fall semester. Candidates with some administrative experience are encouraged to apply. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and include generous institutional support for professional development.
