Digital Communications Manager About FPWA FPWA is a leading anti-poverty, social policy and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening human services organizations and faith institutions, and advancing economic opportunity and justice for New Yorkers with low incomes. Overview Reporting to the Director of Communications & Public Affairs, the Digital Communications Manager is a critical member of the communications team and the overall organization. You’ll create compelling content that positions the organization as a champion of economic security and leverage various digital channels to increase organizational visibility. You’ll be our brand steward and manage our digital platforms including email, social media, and the website. You’ll be responsible for juggling multiple, detailed projects, while responding in real-time to breaking news and current affairs. The Digital Communications Manager will provide support in the following areas: Primary Responsibilities Strategy & Multi-Channel Management - Manage and grow FPWA’s digital and social media presence, including on Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts, and measure and track their success - Drive email strategy and coordination, including adding, retaining, and segmenting subscribers - Manage updates and improvements to FPWA’s website via WordPress, delivering content that is fresh, easily digestible and relevant to FPWA’s audiences. - Liaise across departments on internal communications as needed Content Creation & Branding - Write, design, and leverage compelling content across all digital platforms to maximize FPWA’s reach with key audiences - Work closely with the Director of Communications & Public Affairs to maintain brand and message consistency across digital media initiatives - Design and update one-pagers, campaign materials, general and program brochures, media kits, fact sheets, and other collateral material. - Produce timely graphics and video content that leverages FPWA initiatives and is responsive to breaking news, local politics and community affairs, and national and regional policy and trends. Campaigns & Advocacy - Develop on-brand digital advertising campaigns across multiple platforms - Support FPWA digital event execution, live coverage, and post-production of events and webinars - Design and execute seamless fundraising, advocacy and programmatic campaigns across all digital channels, in collaboration with key staff Analytics & Reporting - Expertise with measurement tools (Google Analytics, etc.) to track analytics across all channels in order to enhance campaigns, and measure progress toward list growth and engagement - Translate web and social media analytics into easy-to-understand, insightful and actionable reports to present to stakeholders - Other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: - BA degree in journalism, marketing, public/media relations, communications, or related field, and at least three to five years of experience in digital communications including online content development, video editing, email marketing, branding, social media and web analytics - Highly skilled in graphic and video content creation with knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar tools - Commitment to achieving systemic change that will break through the barriers to success for all New Yorkers. - Comfortable in a high paced, collaborative environment. Highly organized with keen attention to detail. - Excellent verbal, written, & presentation skills. - Project management experience, including working with stakeholders across teams to assess needs, recommend strategies, set goals and establish and meet deadlines - Demonstrated success in attracting and engaging new audiences across various platforms and channel - Strong experience with email marketing systems (i.e. Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) for setting up campaigns and strategic messaging - Digital Savvy – knowledge of CMS like WordPress, Google Analytics, Microsoft Suite, Basic HTML/CSS coding and troubleshooting experience - Demonstrated record of developing rapid response advocacy campaigns in partnership with policy and advocacy content experts - Experience in developing various types of content across digital platforms - Experience managing a brand's social media presence across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram - Strong writing and editing skills; ability to produce original, clear, concise, error-free digital content within tight deadlines; attention to detail - Self-starter with ability to operate at a hands-on detailed level, take the lead on complicated projects and anticipate strategies through to the end - Experience with and interest in inclusive, equitable communications that increase the diversity of our audiences SALARY & BENEFITS - Salary range: $72,500 minimum to $85,000 maximum, commensurate with experience. - Excellent Benefit Package including medical, dental, vision, life, 403(b) with match and more. - Ample Vacation Time: Four weeks of paid vacation accumulated during the year plus 12 company holidays. - Professional Development: Resources committed to bolster professional and personal growth. - Modern & Flexible Work Environment: Our staff work out of a beautifully designed open workspace with flexible and tech-equipped meeting spaces to support different workstyles, promote team building and collaboration.
