Assistant Professor (intellectual and developmental disabilities) Position Description:
Assistant Professor of Teacher Education (intellectual disabilities) The School of Education at the College of Charleston invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teacher Education, with specialization in intellectual and developmental Ddsabilities, in the Department of Teacher Education. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2026. This position is essential to supporting the continued growth and accreditation of the special education (SPED) program, particularly within the multicategorical licensure pathway. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate instruction, support online program delivery, and provide disciplinary expertise in Intellectual Disabilities as part of a collaborative SPED faculty team. The candidate is expected to maintain a scholarly research agenda and serve the program, department, and community. Duties Include:
