Admin Manager Inter/Assoc HealthcareJob SummaryThe Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN) is a clinical trials network funded by the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). The Clinical Coordinating Center for SIREN resides within the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan. The SIREN Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC) is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team. This position serves as the high-level bridge between the scientific faculty (PIs) and the administrative machinery of CCC. This is a unique opportunity for someone interested in a leadership role in a nation-wide research organization. The position reports to the Administrative Director and oversees with trial managers and site monitors the administrative functions for a portfolio of clinical trials run out of the SIREN Clinical Coordinating Center. The person in this role will work closely with the SIREN Principal Investigators and the Administrative Director on all leadership functions; will work with the Finance Associate on the reconciliation of monthly trial expenditures; will oversee a subset of the SIREN clinical trial awards and serve as back-up for others; will create and submit reports to sponsors; will create and manage subcontracts; will lead the budget development for clinical trial proposals in the pipeline; and will collaborate on submission of trial proposals and grant applications. Other administrative activities include, but are not limited to, facilitating network meetings, covering project manager duties, creating invoices, and approving trial related expenses. This role will supervise three positions within the SIREN CCC continually as well as additional staff as needed. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 2+ years of management experience, project management skills, and effective interpersonal communication abilities. Desired Qualifications*The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and be proficient in research and financial administration for federally funded research. A prior role managing the administrative and personnel oversight for a portfolio of clinical trials internally or within a clinical research organization (CRO) or federal agency, is highly desired. This position will be funded via funds from SIREN clinical trials grants. The network is a stable NIH resource that has been continuously funded for over 20 years.
