The biologicsearly analytical developmentgroup developsstate-of-the-artanalytical techniques foranalysis oftherapeutic proteins and other novel biologic molecules using separation science and other techniques. The candidate will focus ongrowing a team as well as hands-ondevelopment and implementation ofELISA and bioassaysfor theanalysisof complex biologics including antibodies,antibody drug conjugates, and new modalities. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and testing ofcomplexandautomatedassays and will contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation within the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively function as a scientist, generating original technical ideas and research or development strategies.

• Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectivelyutilizingavailable information and technicalexpertise.

• Independently responsible for project science within his/her area of expertise on one or more project teams leading themethoddevelopment and validation forcomplex biologic therapeutics.

• Proactively seek outnew informationin the literature and incorporate this into individual projects as well as the overall program.

• Work in partnership with colleagues from Discovery, Process Chemistry/EngineeringFormulation Development,and Characterizationdepartments,among others.

• BS or equivalent education and extensive, typically 14+ years of experience; MS or equivalent education with typically 12+ years of experience; PhD with typically 6+ years of experience inbiologicsassay development or relatedscientific area of discipline

• Practical experience and strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas:ELISADevelopment, Bioassay Development, Reporter Gene AssayDevelopment

• PreviouscGMPor GLPexperienceand attention to detail in documentation.

• Demonstrated record of independent thought,creativityand scientific accomplishment.

• Musthavea solid understanding of protein/oligonucleotide chemistry and biochemistry, particularly as related tobiologicsdrug development.

• Strong data and time organization/management skills coupled with strong interpersonal and effective communication skills forfacilitatingcollaborations with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process development teams.

• Effective writer and communication of research or other regulatory materials.
