The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: Facility: Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC) Team: Young Adult Services Unit Location: Hartford, CT Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. THE ROLE: The program offers comprehensive support, including clinical, social, recreational, employment, housing, and educational services. The successful candidate will function as a licensed occupational therapist, providing evaluation and various OT services in the community which include client homes and their residential programs, and in the facility. Job duties include but are not limited to: Provides impactful individual and group instruction across a range of occupational therapy areas, including activities of daily living, independent living skills, sensorimotor development, psychosocial functioning, therapeutic adaptations, and specialized assessments for young adult clients, ages 18 - 25. Designs and implements personalized treatment plans and therapeutic activities in alignment with physician directives to support optimal patient outcomes. Collaborates as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, contributing expertise to ensure comprehensive care. MORE ABOUT US: DMHAS is a health care agency whose mission is to promote the overall health and wellness of persons with behavioral health needs through an integrated network of holistic, comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and supports that foster dignity, respect, and self-sufficiency in those we serve. CRMHC is a community based mental health center, operated by DMHAS, which provides an array of innovative clinical and community support services to individuals with a psychiatric disability, in many cases with co-occurring problems of substance abuse. In addition to the function of providing individuals with behavioral health services, CRMHC also collaborates with the Greater Hartford DMHAS-Funded Mental Health Programs that is comprised of 15 non-profit agencies located in Hartford and West Hartford. These agencies work together to provide a comprehensive array of behavioral health services to nearly 3300 individuals and families. Please note: A comprehensive medical examination, including a drug screening, will be required of all applicants upon a conditional offer of employment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain licensure as an Occupational Therapist issued by the Connecticut State Department of Public Health in accordance with the applicable Connecticut General Statutes.
