The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) is seeking to fill a position for a highly motivated and experienced Psychologist to join our behavioral health clinical leadership team as a Supervising Psychologist 2 (Clinical). SCHEDULE: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday LOCATION: Manson Youth Institution (Cheshire, CT) NOTE: This is a Hazardous Duty position. Selected candidates will be required to attend a 3.5-week hazardous duty training at the Maloney Center for Training & Staff Development located in Cheshire, CT. YOUR ROLE In this role, you will be responsible for: Regional behavioral health oversight for Manson Youth Institution, Cheshire Correctional Institution and New Haven Correctional Center; Clinical oversight of the behavioral health teams at MYI, CCI, NHCC including supervision of Supervising Psychologists, clinical social workers and professional counselors; Point of contact regarding behavioral health care matters involving DOJ, Administrative oversight, hiring, scheduling etc. for the MYI team; Member of the statewide behavioral health care system supervisory group of regional supervising psychologists; Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal and state statutes, consent decrees and settlement agreements regarding the provision of mental health services to the youth and young adult offender population. Direct supervision of the behavioral health team at the Manson Youth Institution; More details can be found in the class specification. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE A Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology and three (3) years of post-doctoral experience as a licensed clinical psychologist. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with forensic or justice involved clients. Experience Supervising Psychologists and/or Licensed Mental Health Professionals. Experience working within a bargaining unit workplace. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice psychology in Connecticut. Any person employed by the State of Connecticut prior to July 1, 1985 with a title in the psychology series of the classified service shall be exempt from the above licensure requirements pursuant to Public Act 613, Section 119 (c). For certain positions, the appointing authority may require State licensure. Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S. § 1320a-7b(f).
