At Fishtank Learning, we believe that teachers and their students deserve access to the highest quality instructional materials. Our in-house curriculum team has spent the last decade drawing on their experience as classroom teachers to develop the Fishtank curriculum. We continually refine and improve our content and tools to reflect the best evidence-based practices and serve the evolving needs of teachers and students. We partner with school districts and charter networks across the country to bring high-quality instructional materials to classrooms, with a focus on expanding access for students who have historically been underserved. Fishtank materials are: Relevant - Fishtank is unique in its commitment to offering culturally relevant and responsive curriculum materials that support the diverse population of students in America's public schools. Rigorous - Fishtank believes ALL students can succeed with rigorous grade-level materials; both Fishtank ELA and Fishtank Math are highly rated for their alignment to standards and research-based practices. Adaptable - Fishtank materials seek to build teacher content knowledge and support intellectual preparation so that teachers can make decisions about how to bring the materials to life for their unique set of students. Overview of Role We are seeking a Director of Digital Publishing to lead the execution and continuous improvement of how our curricula are delivered to teachers and students through our digital platform and related formats. This is not a purely managerial role– success requires a willingness to engage directly in the details of content production and publishing. This role sits at the intersection of curriculum, product, implementation, and operations. It is responsible for ensuring that high-quality instructional materials are translated into a polished, accurate, and reliable user experience on our website, digital assignment platform, and in supporting formats such as printable materials. The Director of Digital Publishing will own the systems and processes that move curricular content from final draft to “classroom ready” (meaning complete, accurate, usable by, and worthy of, teachers and students), lead complex cross-functional projects, and manage the team responsible for executing digital content publication. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong project management skills with an operational mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a high bar for quality. This role requires both leading the work and stepping into the details: reviewing content, solving problems, and directly supporting execution when needed.
