Job Description

8th Grade Math Teacher
Essential Functions:

A 8th-grade math teacher is responsible for instructing students in mathematical concepts and skills, developing lesson plans, and assessing student progress. They create a positive learning environment, manage classroom behavior, and collaborate with other educators and parents. Effective communication, organizational skills, and a passion for mathematics are crucial for this role.

Responsibilities:

A strong understanding of 5th-grade math curriculum standards, including concepts like fractions, decimals, measurement, geometry, and algebraic thinking.
Proficiency in mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies relevant to the 5th-grade level.
Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for diverse learners, including those with special needs.
Familiarity with various assessment techniques to evaluate student learning and inform instruction.
Ability to create a positive and structured learning environment.
Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to use technology to enhance math instruction and engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements
Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor�s degree in mathematics education or a related field is typically required.
Certification/Licensure: Obtaining a state teaching certification or license for middle school mathematics is necessary for public school teachers.
Skills: Strong mathematical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, classroom management abilities, and adaptability are essential.
