Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moment in college was the evacuation for hurricane Katrina. As we were leaving the city of New Orleans on buses contracted by Dillard University, several of the buses had problems. One bus inparticular, the bus that I was on, experienced a blowout in one of the rear tires. After we waited about 45 minutes of waiting, another bus came to replace that one. We proceeded down the highway and eventually caught up witht the other buses at a McDonald's in Baton Rouge. Once we left McDonald's,we continued our journey to Shreveport, Louisiana, but before we had even made another 45 minutes down the highway, we heard the sounds of another tire blowing and, only this time we smelt smoke. The bus driver pulled over and got off of the buis to see what had happened. Once she had checked it out, she got back on the bus and told us to get off. As we all got off of the bus, the smoke began to intensify and in a few minutes the bus was on fire. Thankfully everyone made it off of the bus safely with no physical injuries, just emotional due to the loss of everything that we had on the bus with us. Throughout the week of us staying in a shelter at Centenary College, rumors began to speculate on what the cause was for the bus catching on fire. I had to know what the exact cause was, so I did a little snooping and discovered that the bus driver had been driving with the emergency brake on from the time we left Baton Rouge until we pulled over in the middle of no where, which I like to think of as "between a pimp and a hard place"!

For real I'm only a freshman so I didnt really get a chance to explore Dillard or get in the swing of things but nothing fills like DILLARD when you wak on Dillard campus it fills like home but when I'm other places it just fills weird
