Austin, Tx; retired from Austin ISD. Currently: General music director at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Austin, TX); teacher on staff with the Mt. Olive Bible Institute.

Claim To Fame:
Surviving second year French while cultivating the art of playing 'bridge' ;)
Most Memorable Moment:
* Serving/touring with the Jubilee Singers; being a student of John W. Work, Jr.; influence of Victor Ryder (piano teacher) and Laurence Jones (choir director); Matthew Kennedy (then director of Jubilee Singers); and Arthur Crowley (organist). * Active support in various 'sit-ins' supporting desegregation. * News of JFK's assasination and the immediate (impromptu)response of students flowing into the chapel.

Marching & Concert Band (French Horn; Oboe); National Honor Society; Salutatorian '61
Best Memories:
Nurturing environment of a campus that (at that time) hosted grades 1 through 12--it was a 'true' community of learners. Additionally, being taught by an outstandingly dedicated faculty that were--in reality--extended family.
