We also will help at the end of the year when needed. Todd McClure Football Camp-Community Youth Camp sponsored by Todd McClure former player at Central High and Starting Center for the Atlanta Falcons-I was a volunteer Senior Football Player - worked with youth in the Linebacker drills. We did a baseball day where the students could wear a t-shirt or uniform shirt of their favorite team or player. Last year I was at one school and turned to see a small boy in a "Sharks" uniform. It looked like the same uniform I had when I was 12. When I walked over and turned him around to look at the name on the back I realized it was the baby brother of one of the guys I played with 6 years earlier. It was amazing to see this little guy and how he had grown up, but to see the uniform shirt he was wearing was one of his older brothers and also from a team I played for was awesome. The week of Oct 4, 2012, we did the PBI fun day at Bellingrath Elementary- Tailgating Day. It was fun and all the senior Football players and Cheerleaders went to participate with the students and help. It makes me feel good when I know that I can make a difference in a small child’s life and that I am an influence that they can look up to in a positive way. PBI days in our Elementary Schools -http://www.centralspeaks.com/2012/10/09/bellingrath-hills-tailgates-with-chs-athletes/ Leaders Among Us Award Recipient - I received the honor of being named one of the "Leaders Among Us" at our school for the first 6-week session. Students are nominated through a nomination system on the history of their leadership, being role model to others, work ethic, community service etc. I was honored to be selected by the Lighthouse Leadership Committee for this Honor. My nominee was anonymous but when they read what they wrote about me I realized that it just goes to show that there are those that are watching us every day and looking at the examples we set in our own life. Question to myself - What do I want to be remembered for and in what way do I represent myself to others and how does it affect others?
