Michael DeVore is from Hampton, South Carolina and currently in his junior year at Claflin University. Michael received a full scholarship for the Alice Carson Tisdale Honors College at Claflin University. Michael is majoring in accounting, but he is passionate about entrepreneurship and inventing new technology. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA while still finding time to pursue his passion. Outside of school, Michael is an aspiring inventor whose ideas have caught the attention of a few corporations. This summer Michael DeVore was 1 out of 12 of the brightest African American males across the United States of America to be chosen to be a part of the Institute for Responsible Citizenship located in Washington D.C. Michael was the first student from Claflin University to be chosen among scholars from Princeton University, Yale University, UCLA, Brown, Morehouse, Skidmore, and more for this highly competitive program. The Institute program requires that these amazing young men work a high level 9am-5pm internship, take a college classes after work, and have meetings with CEOs, millionaires, politicians, scholarship programs, and graduate schools throughout the rigorous 8 week institute program. While in Washington D.C., Michael interned at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in the office of the Chief Financial Officer. Michael left a great expression on the staff at the USPTO and is going back to Washington D.C. this summer to complete his second summer in the Institute for Responsible Citizenship. Michael DeVore is currently working on his entrepreneurial "Visionary Mike" video, which he plans to send to Nick Cannon in the hopes he can work with his idol Nick in the near future. Michael DeVore is a unique honors student with great ambitions, who is well on his way to achieving his dreams.
