Claim To Fame:

In the spring of 2006 I graduated with a regents diploma from Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon New York. Determined to become a music educator I had planned to attend Norfolk State university to do so. But upon graduation my mothers disease began to take a turn for the worst. Sickle cell anemia was beginning to take a toll on her. Being born with the disease she had to endure excruciating pain and countless trips in and out of the hospital. So to help take care of my mother I decided that at that moment going away for school wasn't the best option so I enrolled in community college and worked part time to help my family. In 2010 the opportunity presented it's self for me to attend the university of my dreams and with my mother doing a little better we decided it was now or never for me to go and accomplish what I have dreamed. My mother passed away from sickle cell on New Year's Eve of 2012. I am one year away from graduating and cultivating young minds as a music educator. And though it may be hard knowing that she's watching over me motivates me to keep going.

Most Memorable Moment:

My most memorable college moment had to be when I crossed into the fraternity and brotherhood Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Inc. Another had to be when I accomplished a 3.0 GPA. One of my favorite moments is when I became the trumpet section leader for the spartan legion.

High School: Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon , NY class of 2006

Activities & Accomplishments:

I won the Louis Armstrong scholarship for performing arts. Graduated with honors. Was the section leader for 3 years in the marching band, concert band, and jazz band.
