About   (request update)
I am special because I never give up. No matter how far life strays me away from my goal I never give up. Since the age of 9 years old I had to make my own decisions , teach my self how to be a woman, and get through all the things life threw my way. I was the problem child , the one who never paid attention and breezed through school but one thing my mom wanted for me was better. My mother wanted me to succeed and be better than she ever was being knowledgeable about certain situations she had when she was a child. After my mother disappeared and my father failed to help I moved to Texas with a family member who would then care for me till I was of age. Although I had someone to help nobody held my hand. I had to put myself through four long years of high school. At age 16 I was a part time babysitter buying my own food ,clothes, and paying bills. On my 17th birthday I realized I wanted to help kids who didn't have the proper parents or adults in there lives and I took up sociology and phycology courses that coming year , my junior year. At the end of my senior year I bought my first car , a Acura to be exact with cash and drove it fresh off the lot with the help of no one but myself. I graduated high school with a 2.6 GPA and outstanding TAKS scores. I dreamed a dream, I saw the dream, I believed in the dream, and I made it a reality. Today I stand as living proof that kids from the "projects" or "nothing" as some people say do and can make it. I stand before my family, my friends, associates, and the world and say "I Ashley Diobolique Bowden am a high school graduate , a freshman and Texas college in Tyler , a fighter, a survivor and a reality maker.
