I chose to go a HBCU because all of my younger life I went to predominantly black schools and I knew I wanted to be surrounded by people who looked like me, talked like me and could understand me. I chose North Carolina A&T due to one visit in April in my junior year of high school. After I went to tour this campus, I was sold that this where I needed to spend the next 4 years of my life. To add to the beautiful campus and close knitted campus community, N.C. A&T had a tremendous Journalism department that put students in the field I wanted to pursue.

Since my decision to choose North Carolina A&T I have not regretted it one bit. I have made connections with students who want to pursue the same career as me and have pushed to be better every day, I have made bonds with professors that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Even outside of the journalism department I have met some of my closest friends here and do believe they will be my kids aunts and uncles. The time and friends I've made at N.C. A&T is something I wouldn't trade at any other university.
