I am a psychology student at Bethune-Cookman University with a passion for leadership, service, and mental health advocacy. My professional experience includes serving as a Resident Assistant, Shift Lead, Daycare Teacher, Sales Associate, and Delivery Driver, where I developed strong communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and customer service skills. My long-term goal is to earn a doctorate in psychology and become a licensed psychologist dedicated to improving mental health awareness, particularly within underserved communities. I am committed to academic excellence, personal growth, and creating positive change through compassion, integrity, and service.
Current Whereabouts:
Currently, I'm focused on my education, working toward my psychology degree, and preparing for a career in mental health. I'm also interested in personal growth, helping others, and learning more about psychology and human behavior. Outside of school, I enjoy doing hair, listening to music, spending time with my family, and finding creative ways to give back to the community
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My goal is to become a psychiatrist and be the first person in my family to earn a Bachelor's degree and graduate from college. Being a first-generation college student motivates me to work hard and succeed. I hope to set an example for the younger generation in my family by showing them that with determination and perseverance, they can achieve their goals too.
If I had to describe my "claim to fame" in college, it would simply be the kind of person I strive to be every day. I'm known on campus for being approachable, kind, and always willing to help others. Whether it's helping a classmate understand an assignment, encouraging someone who's having a tough day, or volunteering when someone needs assistance, I try to be someone people can rely on.
I believe the way you treat people says more about you than any title or achievement ever could. My goal is to leave a positive impact on everyone I meet, and I take pride in knowing that many people recognize me for my character, compassion, and willingness to serve others. If that's what I'm remembered for after college, I'll consider that my greatest accomplishment.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable college moment was realizing that I had found my forever friend group. College can be intimidating because you're surrounded by so many new people, and it takes time to figure out where you truly belong. When I finally realized that I had found genuine friends who accepted me for who I am, it was a feeling I'll never forget.
These friendships have become one of the greatest blessings of my college experience. We've supported each other through stressful exams, celebrated each other's accomplishments, and been there during difficult moments. Knowing that I've built relationships that will last long after graduation has made my college journey even more meaningful. While earning my degree is important, finding people I consider family has been one of the most rewarding parts of attending college.
