Rachel Albert
Intern, ExxonMobil

About   (request update)
I am a Presidential Scholar at Xavier University of Louisiana majoring in Public Health on a Pre-Med track. Prior to college, I completed two corporate internships with ExxonMobil, gaining early exposure to professional environments, data driven problem solving, and collaborative leadership. I bring strong skills in organization, written and verbal communication, and the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences. I am also skilled in strategic networking and building meaningful professional relationships. After completing my first college semester with a 4.0 GPA, I continue to apply the perseverance, discipline, and leadership developed in high school to my academic and professional growth in public health, research, and service.
Current Whereabouts:
I am currently developing the skills needed to positively impact my campus community and the greater New Orleans area. I am especially interested in combining those skills with student organizational leadership to help expand access and opportunity for local residents. I am also actively exploring the full range of opportunities available at Xavier University of Louisiana, not only within public health, but across academic, leadership, and service spaces that support community driven change.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My long-term aspiration is to become a physician whose work is grounded in public health, prevention, and health equity. I plan to use my education in Public Health on a Pre-Med track to combine clinical care with data informed decision making, community engagement, and advocacy. Professionally, I hope to serve communities like New Orleans by improving access to quality healthcare and addressing systemic barriers that impact health outcomes. I also aspire to lead and mentor others, using collaboration and service to create sustainable change at both the community and policy levels.

Claim To Fame:
As a Presidential Scholar majoring in Public Health on a Pre-Med track, I completed my first semester with a 4.0 GPA while balancing leadership and public health engagement. I serve as an ambassador for Keep America Moving Ahead (KAMA), was selected as a debate moderator during my first semester, and will begin a Data Analyst internship with the Department of Public Health in Spring 2026. I am also working with Delta Omega Honorary Society to charter the first HBCU chapter, reflecting my commitment to advancing public health leadership and service.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moments include experiencing Xavier University of Louisiana Homecoming for the first time. Meeting fellow Xaverites and connecting with alumni made me feel truly part of the Xavier legacy. Move-in weekend was also especially meaningful because I was able to share that milestone with my parents, making the start of my college journey even more memorable.
