Hi! My name is Jayla Turner. I would describe myself as a driven and multifaceted young woman whose ambitions stretch far beyond the ordinary. I was born and raised in Queens, New York. I currently reside in Laurelton. I have developed a strong sense of identity since my days in New York City public schools. I attribute that to my experiences that have been rooted in culture, community, and intellectual curiosity. As a student at Pathways College Preparatory School, I have consistently demonstrated both academic dedication and creative depth, balancing my interest in rigorous subjects like political science with a passion for storytelling and self-expression. In my free-time, I like to debate online, if not with my Jamaican grandparents.

Current Whereabouts:

I love debating, learning, museums, and art galas! I really enjoy music as well as theater. I am excited to experience an HBCU.

I aspire to be an attorney, and hopefully, one day, open up a scholarship of my own.
