About   (request update)
I brought to motorcycle community Ride for HOPE-Ride for CHANGE Foundation and I had the privilege of serving as the Illinois State Logistics Director for the MLK M5 Project/Million Motorcyclist Motorcade (a national motorcyclists fundraising effort to benefit the National Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial scheduled to be built in Washington, D.C.) and Former Business Manager of the Brothers of Soul MC. Also known as the favorite son of the Man upstairs, the father of one son and husband of one wife… In 2007, we established a not-for-profit division of our holding company. The new venture, BPM Community Development Corporation (BPMCDC)) was initially established for the purpose of training inner-city youth construction estimating via digital plans (construction drawings) and specifications. What’s that?! Right! It’s emerging technology…and children are the future. To that end, we were the recipient of a $307,000.00 grant from the manufacturer of the software used in the training. It was surprising to see the support we were able to obtain in this important venture. With this arrangement we were able to merge with the meaning behind the name BPM, Building, Partnering and Mentoring. The words of Zig Ziglar rang true as our efforts were made manifest, “You can get anything you want in life for a long as you help enough other people get what they want”. We have expanded our outreach efforts to include other areas of “community development”. BPMCDC has partnered with the City of Chicago, City of Gary, Brothers of Soul Motorcycle Club and several corporations on a number of community development projects. It really does take a village to raise a child. And it takes a strong nation to bind a people. I encourage you to use your knowledge and experience to mentor a young person and be a source of encouragement for so called, “grown folks”. So from Monday thru Friday BPMCDC maintained its meaning until the weekend when Building was substituted for Bikers. Upon introduction to a couple of the members of the Brothers of Soul M/C, we proceeded on a 200+ mile trip to Springfield, IL. That one trip is among the shortest rides we've had together. It has been my privileged to have learned about the sport and recreation of motorcycling from these men and women. The youngest member of the Brothers of Soul M/C, I joined the club in the spring of 2005. I was brought into the club to help keep the club going by means of an appointment as the club's business manager. As the club members are older, I was looking to encouraging them to network and attract a new breed of associates interested in riding and (if the spirit moves them) joining the Brothers of Soul M/C, preserving its traditions and extolling the values and virtues of the club while contributing to the community in a positive manner. Like most level-minded people, I don’t like a lot of BS, just ride and enjoy the moment. With that said my resignation from the Brothers of Soul MC was accepted June of 2008. During my tenure on the scene I have met and rode with some beautiful people of all genres. To those who have made my biking experience what it is…here’s a special shoutout! Road Dog (independent rider) for always being ready to roll!, Loquator Dinkins (South Suburban Toys for Kids) for hanging in there and providing for the needy against all odds, Big Rob (Number One Stunnas) for welcoming me into their community and setting an example for others to emulate, Felicia, for letting me get away with putting off stuff I should be doing instead of riding a motorcycle, Oscar and Betty (BOSMC) for having the foresight to step up to plate, Doug and Blue (BOSMC) for the support when it rained hard, and all my World of Soul family across the country near and far. I look forward to our continued association and bond that we have as bikers. See you on the asphalt!
