About   (request update)
Currently a student at Jackson State University, Chevan Baker is a computer engineering major at Jackson State University.  Goal-driven and heavily invested in his work, Chevan has a reputation as the passionate “go-to guy” who can get things done in a pinch. Balancing his school life and his work life, he previously co-owned and operated the tech blog 1Place4Tech, for three years. He helped to launch the Kansas City nonprofit organization, Black and College Bound, as a trainer and a facilitator, and he also worked in support of diversity at Jackson State as an organizer of the Can I Live Rally which was an event that promoted overcoming adversity. Chevan is a member of the group that has built and designed a mat with the purpose of helping thwart diabetic leg amputations due to complications of foot ulcerations; from which his three partners and he officially presented before an advisory board of engineers in December of 2015.  He along with his partners have received both national and international attention for their invention by publications such as  NAACP Crisis Magazine, The Clarion Legder, Diverse Education, and Engadget to name a few. His favorite quote is “You must be the change that you wish to see in the world,” spoken by the late Mahatma Gandhi.  He lives by that personal mantra as he devotes everything he can to help others cultivate personal advancement and leadership skills by sharing his knowledge and experiences.
