I am Kelson Campbell, a rising senior at Fisk University in Nashville, TN. I am a native of The Bahamas and a two-year Inroads Deloitte Summer Intern.
I am working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science, currently maintaining a GPA of 3.66. I desire to obtain a full time job in a top technological company so that I can apply the skills I gained and developed through my internship experiences. Also, I plan to later obtain a master’s degree in Information Systems upon graduation from Fisk University. I have gained experience through the Deloitte Internship Program by helping serve as a Business Solutions Analyst and Engagement Manager. Among my previous positions, I have served as a Google Edge Program participant and a Fisk Computer Science tutor.
My biggest accomplishment was becoming a member of and graduating from the Bahamas Beautillion Community Gentleman’s Club. This program targeted young men to improve their growth and career awareness through the use of workshops and seminars. In participating in this organization, I was awarded a full four year scholarship to attend Fisk University. Along with this, I graduated as one of the top three students at my high school and was a member of the Technical Cadets Corps Program.
While at Fisk, I have been involved in different organizations and has served in several leadership positions. I serve as a technology lead for the Fisk Activities Board and serves as an executive board member for the Caribbean Student Association. I also serve as a member of the Alpha Mu Gamma Foreign Language Honors Society, and a member of the Talented Tenth Leadership Program. I have completed the Fisk University EXCEL Program and was the first-place winner of the 2014 Google Atlanta Hackathon.
Within the past summers, I participated in a wide range of community service outreach including: Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee, Greenways of Nashville, Goodwill Career Solutions, and Overton High School job shadowing program.
I am most proud in serving as an intern, ambassador, and member of the advisory board for Inroads on Fisk University's campus. Through Inroads, I have received some of the best opportunities. This past summer, I was recognized at the 2016 Inroads conference for serving as an Inroads ambassador and also received the Emerging Leader Award (Intern of the Year) for the Nashville/Memphis region.
