 During my summer internship, I had the unique opportunity to spearhead a project centered around developing a user interface for low-cost methane detection sensors, utilizing the Raspberry Pi as the core processing unit. This project was particularly challenging and rewarding as it involved both hardware manipulation and software development. I engaged in the design and implementation of a responsive, user-friendly interface that allowed for real-time monitoring and data visualization of methane levels detected by the sensors. The system was engineered to trigger alerts and activate safety protocols automatically when methane concentrations exceeded safe thresholds. Collaborating closely with a team of engineers and environmental scientists, we aimed to create a cost-effective solution that local communities and small enterprises could deploy to monitor environmental safety. This hands-on project not only refined my skills in programming and system integration but also deepened my understanding of environmental technology and its impact on public health.
