I have worked in IT and plan on furthering my skills in that field.

Electrical Officer | US Navy

I oversaw maintenance of all switchboards including main and emergency switchboards. I was responsible for the maintenance of all fire detectors and fire alarm systems. I maintained all the ship’s alarm systems. I was responsible for the electronic system fitted onboard the ship. I was responsible for the ship’s navigational lights and other navigational equipment. I was responsible for all the batteries that are connected to machinery onboard including: - Emergency batteries for alarm and lights - Lifeboat batteries - Batteries for emergency generator -Other batteries fitted onboard I was responsible for maintaining the refrigeration unit in the engine room. I ensured the stability of the air conditioning unit of the vessel. I was responsible for maintaining refrigerated containers carried on container ships. I was responsible for the cargo and engine room cranes' electrical systems. I carried out routine maintenance for main engine alarms and trips along with the Chief Engineer. During the time of maneuvering, I was present in the engine room along with other engineers to tackle any kind of electrical and other emergencies. I successfully led seven Electrician Mates to an effective Navy Electrical Program. One of my sailors received the Junior Sailor of the Year Award for Naval Station Mayport (2017). I qualified as Electrical Safety Officer for USS THE SULLIVANS. I Inspected and was the final authorizing authority for all 303 of the ship crew’s electrical equipment and personal items. I piloted all required electrical safety training. I kept a record of divisional administrative records including muster and training reports, individual career counseling sessions, and the checking in and out of sailors. I Managed logistical purchases of all ship electrical equipment and supplies. I Evaluated each Electrician’s Mate performance and successfully guided five sailors in the promotion and four in reenlisting in the Navy.
