I started my entrepreneurial journey at 12 years old when I became a self-employed hairstylist. Over the years, I built a strong clientele and participated in numerous showcases, showcasing my hairstyling skills. I also created my own brand, designing satin-lined beanies and hair care combs to promote healthy hair. My experience as a self-employed hairstylist taught me the ins and outs of business management, client relations, and product development, shaping me into a resourceful and driven entrepreneur.
Current Whereabouts:
Anything hands on, creative, and full of soul. Fashion is where I live, but it’s really just one thread in a much bigger tapestry: music, art, sewing, styling, hair, all of it lights me up the same way. I did not choose fashion, it chose me. It is the language my body speaks and the gravity that pulls me toward everything I create. My name is Nailah Jhaynè Wint, and I am a rising junior Fashion Design major at Clark Atlanta University, currently seeking opportunities across fashion design, modeling, photography, styling, marketing, merchandising, social media management, and content creation, and honestly, any role that gives my hands and imagination something beautiful to build. If you’re creating something that needs both heart and execution, let’s connect.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My journey is built on a foundation of bold creativity and disciplined execution. After spending four months studying in Florence, Italy at Accademia Italiana, I developed a sharper eye for craftsmanship and technical design. That creative fire is balanced by the grit I earned running my own business for six years, which taught me how to manage pressure and lead with consistency. I am highly adaptable, coachable, and committed, and I bring a vibrant, constructive presence to every room I enter. My immediate goal is to secure an internship with a major fashion brand or organization, gain hands-on industry experience, and grow that into a full-time role where I can keep learning and building a strong professional foundation. From there, I plan to branch into designing sleepwear and loungewear for people with sensitive skin and eczema, as well as wedding dresses and suits, while also working as a fashion stylist and model. Long term, I’m open to exploring real estate and event coordination as well. I trust that God will lead me exactly where I’m supposed to be, and I intend to stay ready for every door He opens along the way.
My claim to fame in college is my participation in The AUC Agency modeling organization, where I had the opportunity to be an opener in the Spelman/Morehouse Homecoming Spring 2025 fashion show. This experience allowed me to showcase my confidence and presence on a major stage, solidifying my passion for modeling and fashion. Being part of such a prestigious event not only strengthened my runway skills but also connected me with industry professionals and creatives who share my vision for innovation and self-expression.
Most Memorable Moment:
Studying abroad in Florence, Italy through KEI is by far my most memorable college moment. Living there for a semester felt like stepping into a dream, walking streets more beautiful than I could have imagined, taking classes in pattern making and luxury craftsmanship at Accademia Italiana, and being fully immersed in a culture and history I had only read about before. Beyond the coursework, it was the people, the travel, and the constant sense of gratitude that made it unforgettable. I came back with a new perspective, a deeper love for fashion, and the motivation to keep chasing experiences that push me outside my comfort zone.
