I was awarded STEM award named the Josephine Belasik Ledwin '50 scholarship award junior year. I also participated in the Empowering in Medicine Jericho Road Internship. I was an active member of the Black Student Union of my school for my four years attending. I was the president of Jewelry Club at my school where the jewelry hand-made by members, including myself, and sold was used to fund the Angel Fund at my school which helped paid for expenses for students were not able to take care of themselves.

Current Whereabouts:

Baking, Painting, Arts and Crafts, Listening to Music, and Learning about black history.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

After I receive my Bachelor�s degree in chemical engineering, I plan to study to receive my master�s degree in pharmacology, and then study for a PhD in pharmacology. Throughout my time studying, I would like to participate in pharmacology internships. I would then strive to achieve a job being a pharmacologist. In my role as a pharmacologist, I hope to learn how different medicines and drugs affect the human body. I also aspire to design specific drug treatments to manage or cure diseases or illnesses that, at present, are incurable. My goal is to always try to help people in any way I can. Through medicine, I believe I can provide the best health assistance to many people. I also hope to break down the racial wall in the medicine/healthcare world and educate my community about their health. From improving the health and wellbeing of my community, I hope to expand to achieve the same for the broader, global community.

I was able to shadow different doctors and nurses while also learning more about the medical field and how disproportionately disadvantaged the black and brown communities and ways that I could help get rid of those disadvantages. I also toured local schools with medical schools and talked to medical students about their experiences.
