Q&A With Semajae Hamilton

About   (request update)
I’ve gained valuable experience working as a certified nursing assistant and in retail, which helped me develop important skills. As a CNA, I provided compassionate care, communicated well with patients and staff, and stayed calm under pressure. In retail, I strengthened my customer service, time management, and teamwork abilities. In both roles, I’m known for being dependable and hardworking, always ready to give my best. These experiences have helped me grow personally and professionally. I’m eager to keep learning and take on new challenges to become even better every day.
Current Whereabouts:
Right now, I’m focused on graduating without any debt, which is really important to me. Along the way, I’m also making sure to spend quality time with my friends and family, because those relationships keep me grounded and motivated. Balancing my goals with meaningful moments with the people I care about is what’s driving me every day.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I’ve always wanted to work in healthcare because I care deeply about helping people and making a difference. At the same time, I realized early on that I’m more interested in the behind-the-scenes side of things, not working directly with patients but focusing on the systems and technology that support quality care. That’s why I’m excited about health services management and health informatics, where I can help improve healthcare from a bigger picture perspective.
Education   (request update)
North Carolina A&T State University class of 2026
Undergrad Major: Health Administration
Claim To Fame:
If there’s one thing people know me for in college, it’s that I’m dependable. I’m the person others turn to when they need help, motivation, or just someone who will show up and follow through. I’ve built a reputation for being reliable, hardworking, and focused, especially when it comes to my goals. I’ve stayed consistent even when things got challenging, and that personal growth is something I’m proud of. Whether I’m helping a classmate study, encouraging a friend who’s having a hard day, or pushing myself to keep going, I try to lead with purpose and stay true to who I’m becoming. That’s what people see in me, and that’s what I carry with pride.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of my most memorable moments in college was finally finding my friend group and building a genuine bond with them. It took a little while, but once we connected, everything started falling into place. We would study together in the library, hold each other accountable, and still have time to laugh, vent, and enjoy life. Some of our best memories were made just being present for each other, whether it was late-night study sessions, spontaneous campus events, or just sitting outside talking about life. And of course, homecoming was a huge highlight. The energy during that week is something you have to experience to understand. From the concerts and tailgates to the step shows and the parade, we made the most of every moment. Just being surrounded by culture, music, and school spirit with the people I care about made me feel like I was part of something bigger. Those shared experiences, especially the fun, joy, and support, are what made college so special for me.
