My name is Alaina Brooks, and I’m currently in the Upper Division Nursing Program at Howard University, working toward my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My passion for nursing began in high school, where I took a course called OSTC that introduced me to patient care and healthcare fundamentals. Since then, I’ve gained hands-on experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Corewell Health Hospital and as a Patient Care Technician at Henry Ford Hospital, and I’ve also volunteered in hospital settings. These experiences have strengthened my patient care and advocacy skills and inspired me to pursue my goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner specializing in dermatology.
