 As an assistant professor of special education, I recruit and educate talented teachers to work with students who have disabilities. I also coordinate several initiatives at the university such as the Futrell Scholars Program, which helps to mentor HBCU doctoral students on campus. Also, I created the IIES (International Inclusive Education Symposium) to provide educators in West Africa with the skills needed to reach and teach the children that they serve.
