About   (request update)
My experience includes volunteer work, receptionist duties, retail, and food service, which helped me build strong communication and customer service skills. As a receptionist, I answered phone calls and stayed organized in a fast-paced setting. Working at Marshalls and Journeys taught me professionalism, teamwork, and proper business casual/professional appearance. At Wendy’s, I learned how to work efficiently under pressure. I also helped at sports events, gaining teamwork and adaptability skills. Along with CPR and First Aid certification, public speaking, and critical thinking skills, these experiences have helped me become responsible, confident, and prepared for future opportunities.
Education   (request update)
Prairie View A&M University class of 2029
Undergrad Major: Kinesiology
Claim To Fame:
One thing that has shaped me is starting my college journey at a community college. While I’m thankful for the experience, there were not many organizations, clubs, or opportunities for student involvement on campus. Because of that, I had to step outside of my comfort zone and create connections on my own instead of relying on campus activities to meet people. That experience taught me how to be independent, social, and confident in unfamiliar situations. Rather than allowing the lack of involvement opportunities to hold me back, I learned how to build friendships through conversation, consistency, and simply putting myself out there. It showed me the importance of community and how meaningful connections can positively impact your college experience. I believe those experiences helped me grow into someone who can adapt easily, communicate well with others, and create opportunities even when they are not directly given to me. As I continue my education at an HBCU, I look forward to becoming more involved on campus and taking advantage of organizations, leadership opportunities, and activities that will help me continue growing both personally and professionally.
Most Memorable Moment:
Some of my most memorable college moments have been accomplishments that reminded me how much I’ve grown academically and personally. One moment I am especially proud of was making the Dean’s List. It showed me that my hard work, discipline, and dedication were paying off, and it motivated me to continue pushing myself to succeed in school. Another memorable experience was becoming CPR and First Aid certified. Earning those certifications made me feel more prepared and confident in my ability to help others in emergency situations. Since I plan to pursue a career in kinesiology and health-related fields, this experience was important to me because it connected directly to my future goals and strengthened my passion for helping people. Beyond academics, my college journey has taught me independence, resilience, and how to adapt to new environments. Starting at a community college helped me learn how to create opportunities and connections for myself, and each achievement along the way has continued to shape me into a more motivated and determined person.
