Amaris Altoro is a graduate of North Community High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will attend Howard University in the fall to study International Relations, journalism, and Arabic language studies. A Black American and Puerto Rican student, Amaris is passionate about storytelling, global affairs, language, and cross-cultural understanding. Having traveled to nearly forty countries, she has developed a strong interest in international issues and the power of media to connect people across cultures. She hopes to pursue a career in journalism, global communications, or international affairs, using storytelling to amplify underrepresented voices and promote greater understanding in communities around the world.
