Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college is being the golfer who is trying to become much bigger than just a golfer. At Florida A&M University, a lot of people know me because I play Division I golf, but what really separates me is the vision I have for my life outside of sports. I am constantly pushing myself to grow in business, networking, leadership, and financial literacy while still competing at a high athletic level. I never wanted to be someone whose identity stopped at being an athlete. What makes me memorable is the way I think. I am always asking questions, learning from successful people, looking for opportunities, and trying to position myself for a future bigger than what most people my age even imagine. Whether it is pursuing internships, building connections, studying business, or learning about wealth creation and entrepreneurship, I carry myself like someone preparing for long-term success. I think people respect the fact that I genuinely believe I can build an extraordinary life, even if the path is difficult. I came to college not just to earn a degree or play golf, but to completely change the trajectory of my future and my family’s future. That mindset is my claim to fame.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of my most memorable college moments was sitting in my dorm at almost 2 a.m. having a conversation with a group of friends about what we actually wanted out of life. Not classes or majors, but life itself. Everybody had different answers. Some wanted financial freedom, some wanted to make their families proud, some wanted peace, and some admitted they were still trying to figure everything out. What made that moment so meaningful was realizing I was surrounded by ambitious young Black students from completely different backgrounds, all pushing toward something greater for themselves and their families. That is one of the things that makes attending an HBCU like Florida A&M University so memorable. There is a shared sense of purpose and understanding that is hard to explain unless you experience it yourself. The conversations, the culture, the confidence, and the support system push you to think bigger about your future. Some of my best college memories have not come from classrooms, but from the people I have met and the perspectives I have gained. Being at an HBCU has allowed me to connect with students, professors, mentors, and professionals who inspire me and constantly remind me that success is possible for people who look like me. College has taught me independence, maturity, and discipline, but attending an HBCU has also taught me pride. It has shown me the importance of community, representation, and believing in my potential. Years from now, when I think about my college experience, I will remember the moments, conversations, and relationships that helped shape me into the person I am becoming.
