During my time at the Career Connected Learning PHL Horticulture Center, I gained hands-on experience in various aspects of horticulture, including urban agriculture, pest management, and greenhouse environmental control. I operated and maintained horticultural tools and equipment using sustainable methods, and contributed to the planning, upkeep, and outreach efforts of community gardens. This included leading educational tours to engage the public. Through this experience, I developed strong workplace skills, including teamwork, responsibility, time management, and organization. The role was a paid position, earning a $330 biweekly stipend over a 7-week period.
