(interview me)
Adam Diaz
Field Engineer Intern, Ensign Engineering, P.C.

Location: New York, NY United States
Joined: Jun 22nd, 2026
About   (request update)
I am a senior Electrical Engineering student at Howard University and a Division I student-athlete on the Howard Swimming and Diving team. My interests include power systems, grid reliability, infrastructure, electronics, and data-driven engineering solutions. I have field engineering experience through Ensign Engineering, where I supported inspections, project documentation, RFIs, and contractor payment packages on large-scale construction projects. I am also developing the Grid Risk Engine, a personal project that uses weather, location, and seasonal data to estimate outage risk. I bring discipline, teamwork, technical curiosity, and a strong commitment to building safer, more reliable communities.
Current Whereabouts:
I am currently interested in electrical engineering, power systems, grid reliability, infrastructure, electronics, AI tools, and data-driven engineering projects. I also enjoy building hands-on projects, learning new technical skills, and competing as a Division I swimmer on Howard University's Swimming and Diving team.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My goal is to become an electrical engineer who helps design safer, stronger, and more reliable infrastructure. I am especially interested in power systems, grid reliability, and engineering solutions that support communities like the one I grew up in. Long term, I hope to use my technical background, leadership experience, and commitment to service to help build systems that improve everyday life and create lasting opportunity.

Undergrad Major: Electrical Engineering
Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college is being the only electrical engineering major, and possibly the only engineer, on the Howard University Swimming and Diving team. Balancing Division I athletics with one of the most demanding majors has taught me discipline, time management, and resilience. I take pride in representing both Howard Engineering and Howard Athletics at the same time. It shows that I’m able to compete at a high level in the pool while also preparing for a career in engineering.
Experience
I currently work with Ensign Engineering, P.C. as Field Engineer Intern
I have 1 years of experience working in the Engineering industry.
