I am an Architectural Engineering student at Tennessee State University with experience in engineering research, sustainable design, real estate development, and community resilience. Through the AMIE Program, I served on a consulting team that developed a resilience hub proposal for LADWP. I also participated in the Project Destined Bridge Program, where I explored real estate development and large-scale projects, including stadium development. In addition, I gained research and field experience through the SRESFS Engineering Track internship and studied climate resilience through the HBCU SCI Summer Fellowship Program. My goal is to become a landscape architect focused on sustainable spaces for underserved communities.
Current Whereabouts:
Right now, I'm focused on growing my clothing brand while expanding my skills in photography and videography. I recently invested in a Sony camera to create high-quality content, shoot promotional campaigns, and produce music videos that showcase my brand. I'm passionate about combining creativity with entrepreneurship, and I enjoy learning new techniques in filmmaking, editing, and content creation. Building my brand allows me to express my creativity while developing business, marketing, and leadership skills that I hope to carry into my future career.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My long-term aspiration is to become a licensed architectural engineer and landscape architect specializing in commercial development. I want to revitalize underserved communities by transforming vacant and underutilized properties into thriving spaces that support local businesses, create jobs, and improve quality of life. My goal is to develop shopping centers, mixed-use developments, and public spaces that are sustainable, resilient, and welcoming. Through thoughtful design and community-focused planning, I hope to leave a lasting impact by creating developments that promote economic growth while strengthening the neighborhoods they serve.
My "claim to fame" in college is my consistent academic success and campus involvement. Since enrolling at Tennessee State University in the fall of 2022, I have earned **Dean's List** recognition every semester, demonstrating my commitment to academic excellence and perseverance.
Outside of the classroom, I have served on the **National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Fundraising Committee**, where I have helped support chapter activities and initiatives that benefit engineering students. Balancing academics with leadership and service has helped me grow as both a student and a future engineering professional.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of my most memorable college moments was being awarded the ASHRAE Nashville Society Scholarship worth $2,500. Receiving this scholarship reinforced that my hard work and dedication to Architectural Engineering were being recognized by professionals in the industry.
Another unforgettable moment was receiving the Advanced Minorities in Engineering (AMIE) Scholarship worth $2,000. Beyond the financial support, AMIE provided me with valuable opportunities to gain real-world engineering experience, collaborate on meaningful projects, and connect with industry professionals.
These accomplishments reminded me that perseverance and commitment can lead to opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. They have motivated me to continue striving for excellence as I work toward my goal of designing sustainable and resilient communities through engineering and landscape architecture.
