Dr. Mark Cornelus Booker is a social science practitioner and lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Delaware State University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses. His work focuses on higher education in prisons and recidivism. He collaborates with university administrators, correctional leaders, and community stakeholders to expand educational opportunities in correctional settings. Dr. Booker also serves as a volunteer facilitator with the Brenda Murray Book Group at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women. Prior to academia, he served seven years as CEO of We Teach and Tutor, LLC, overseeing paraeducator services for Baltimore City Public Schools.
