Current Whereabouts:
i currently live in prince george's county, md. this is my second year here in the school system as a speech/language pathologist. i work with k-8th graders. i enjoy working with my students and their families - encouraging them to review and follow up on concepts taught in the classroom. i've lived in maryland for almost 3 years now and it has not grown on me. i really miss living in virginia. really, i miss the peace and tranquility of living near the beach and i may try to move back to some part of va before it's all said and done.

Claim To Fame:
my "claim to fame" came when i passed my national examination for speech/language pathology. it was only by the grace of God that i passed this test. i screamed and shouted when i got the results. after passing this test, i was ready to move forward with my career. i had wanted to work with small groups of people to help them speak better and more clearly, and now i was certified to do just that.
Most Memorable Moment:
running for miss hampton during my sophmore/junior year/ dr. pollie s. murphy - "dwin"/watching planes fly by with my friend who was studying to be a pilot/ i really enjoyed my time working at the hampton university museum as an undergraduate and graduate student. i did not particularly like doing inventory of artifacts, but i had a good friend who worked with me - always made me laugh. i also enjoyed meeting various artists and going to the openings that were held at the museum. i would also have to include my first experience in the public schools as a substitute speech pathologist - this experience was what set me on the path to work in the school system - it was so exciting to work with such a variety of people and students.
