Grabbing the ear of anyone who is within listening distance, the words and passionate expression of Black Ice has captivated audiences worldwide. Gaining critical acclaim as the star of HBO’s Def Poetry, Black Ice has received accolades that span from the prestigious Peabody Award, to winning the TONY Award in 2003. Making appearances everywhere from The Congressional Black Caucus, to Savior’s Day with Minister Louis Farrakhan, to his performance on the worldwide telecast of Live8. Releasing his debut album, The Death of Willie Lynch in 2006 while on tour with Mary J Blige, he has consistently pushed the envelope when it comes to poetry and it’s boundaries. “When I heard Black Ice for the first time, I knew the world was ready for the art of spoken word.” Says Russell Simmons, the Godfather of Hip-Hop.
