My name is Kennedi Adaria Phillips and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was born in Montgomery, Alabama, but my family relocated to Cincinnati, which is my dad's hometown, in May 2006, when I was 8 years old. I am an upcoming graduate of Lakota West High School and I am too excited to continue my education at Tuskegee University.

It has been my dream to attend an HBCU. My sister graduated from an HBCU and I am inspired by women and men of color attending a school to become role models. Tuskegee has always been my first choice, because it is a smaller university, located close to my family, and seeing the young women graduate and continue on to law school and medical school humbles me greatly. I want to major in Psychology and I may decide to be a Psychiatrist. I do know I want to mentor young people and help them to stay on the correct path. I feel Tuskegee University is the best university to help me accomplish that goal.
