COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP 2005

The Bronx Unionite Connection Scholarship Committee & LevTran Enterprise is offering one $1500.00 scholarship for 2005.

Ladies and Gentlemen we the Bronx Unionite Connection Scholarship committee and LevTran Enterprises are proud to announce our first ever scholarship. This is a proud decision we have made to demonstrate our personal initiative as we realize that in a real and profound sense all that we do and have accomplished bears the clear imprint of those who have touched and contributed to our lives, and we too want to demonstrate our sincere contribution back into our community of the Bronx. This scholarship is for an incoming freshman student that resides in the state of New York county of the Bronx, who has been accepted and will be attending Virginia Union University in the fall of 2005 as a full-time student. The scholarship is for $750 for each semester. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or better. This award is for Bronx, New York residents only and is nonrenewable. There is no major requirement (you do not have to have a particular major to apply for this scholarship). The student has to attend Virginia Union University for 4 weeks before the scholarship for that semester will be disbursed. There will be one scholarship issued each year.

To apply for the scholarship the student needs to:
Write a 1500 word essay explaining, why they want to attend Virginia Union University and what their future accomplishments /goals are.
An official transcript from their high school,
Three references letters from teachers,
Personal statement,
Acceptance letter from Virginia Union University
A copy of their resume
This information should be forwarded to the Committee with all the required documents by May 2, 2005; the winner will be notified by mail by June 1st.
We have established this scholarship because we want people in our hometown of the Bronx to know about a university that we attended and how we were educated and how it prepared three extraordinary successful young women to succeed after graduation: An author, a social worker and a district manager. All three women were raised in the Bronx.
This endeavor is our way of saying thank you and to bring interest towards this wonderful Historically Black College & Universities.
The completed typed essay along with the above listed items should be mailed to:
