HBCU Dance Corporation is offering a dance scholarship to deserving young ladies who perform on an HBCU Band Dance Line. All applicants must be a current member of a band dance line, must provide two (2) recommendations and must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Scholarship Amount: $500 or more (to be provided to the HBCU School) Acceptable Uses: For tuition, books, meal plans, room & board Scholarship Requirements: Candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements to apply for an HBCU Dance Scholarship. - Must be an active, female dancer/participant on a Band Dance line at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) School. - Must provide a recommendation from at least two (2) HBCU dance line administrators at your HBCU School. Administrators who serve multiple roles will only be considered as ONE recommendation. - Must have a scholastic need for scholarship funds. - Minimum GPA: 3.0 How to Apply: Candidates MUST submit a complete Scholarship Packet to HBCU Dance (scholarships@HBCUDance.com) including ALL of the following items to be considered for an HBCU Dance Scholarship: 1. HBCU Dance Scholarship Application 2. In 500 words or less, describe all of the following elements: ◦How dance has influenced your life ◦How being on the dance line at an HBCU school has affected your college experience AND ◦Why you will benefit from the scholarship 3. A recommendation from TWO of the following dance line administrators at your HBCU School: - Band Director - Dance line Coach - Dance line Sponsor - Dance line Choreographer - Dance line Captain | |
